Destiny Bowman's technical prowess in painterly realism and her sublime treatment of female subjects enables her to make some of the most striking figurative work being made in Colorado. A private student of modern realist master, Daniel Sprick, she is a member of Women Artists of the West, Oil Painters of America, NOAPS, and the Portrait Society of America.
BIO:
Destiny’s influences include John Singer Sargent, Euan Uglow, and Francis Bacon. She studied extensively with Colorado's most recognized realist painter, Daniel Sprick, from whom she learned how to paint the finer details of life. She seeks to meld contemporary ideas and textures with the traditional painting techniques she gained in her apprenticeship with Sprick.
Destiny says, “Painting is a therapy for me. It’s something that slows me down in this busy world that moves so fast it could make one crazy. Painting is calming to the mind and makes room for love and patience.”
